On April 1 2008 a there was a newly constructed educational centre of Lidice Memorial opened in the museum premises. The exhibition part can offer an exposition called.. “And the Name of the Village Was Deleted”. It follows the multimedia exposition of the museum and brings more detailed information connected to the tragedy of Lidice. Another part of the centre is a schoolroom with computer equipment used especially for educational programs and special seminars. Since 2006 the Lidice Memorial prepares accredited seminars dedicated to the problematic of German occupation, persecution and Czechoslovak resistance. They are aimed especially for the teachers of history, civics and other humanities. The seminars are lectured by specialists invited from the Faculty of Philosophy of The Charles University, from the Military Historical Institute, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and from other educational institutions. The programs for schools are focused on history of the village Lidice and in accordance to the age of the pupils are focused either on art (I. grade of primary education) or on history with usage of digitalized materials of the historical collection of the Lidice Memorial (pupils of the II. grade of primary schools and high schools). For the pupils from 10 to 19 years, every year the Lidice Memorial together with the Military Historical Institute and the Faculty of Philosophy of the Charles University advertise an internet contest “Lidice for 21st Century”. It is focused on events of 20th Century mainly connected to the period of the World War II. |
