Lidice Memorial offers not only an insight into the history, but also a wide range of leisure time activities, exhibitions, and screenings of historical films and documentaries.
If you are interested in historical events of 1942 and the fate of people who lived in Lidice, we recommend to visit the permanent exhibition at the museum and walk through the reverent area, the territory of the former village. Here you will find several points of interest, such as the foundations of an old church or school, the grave of the Lidice men or the War Children´s Victims Monument. The museum offers an insight into the everyday life of pre-war Lidice, mediated by family photographs, you will experience the tragedy of the village and meet survivors of the tragedy in a film strip.
Near the museum there are two other exhibition halls, named Underneath the Tribune and In Memoriam, which host temporary exhibitions of primarily historical character. Admission is free.
Nevertheless, Lidice of today doesn´t live just in the past. You can visit the Gallery, where the permanent exhibition of the Lidice collection of modern art and various other temporary art exhibitions are presented. Among them, for example, is the annual International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice. Here you have the opportunity to see historical films and documents of your choice, the Gallery also offers a pleasant restaurant.
For your interest is also worth a walk through contemporary village, built since 1947 in the then most innovative spirit, or through the Rose Garden, which connects the old and the new village.
