The Lidice Memorial, in cooperation with the Terezín Memorial, invites you to an exhibition about the OPERATION VALKYRIE.

Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg was an important person in the resistance against Hitler since 1943. His collaboration with military and civilian resisters culminated in an assassination on Hitler on 20th July 1944 and in the attempt to bring the Nazi regime to case in a coup.
Hitler survived the attack.
Stauffenberg and his fellow conspirators were shot in the night of the 20th July 1944 and more than 150 people were killed by the Nazis in revenge for the assassination.
The exhibition, consisting of 20 banners, documents the life of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg and explains what led him to his resistance activities and what his motives for the attempted assassination of Hitler were. In addition, the preparations of the attack and the role of Stauffenberg’s co-conspirators are presented. The exhibition also shows the course of the attack and of the coup in Berlin. Lastly, the exhibition documents the execution of Stauffenberg and shows how the Nazis were dealing with Stauffenbergs co-conspirators, family and friends.
